Paris Hilton and Joel Madden's dogs are dating. According to Paris' boyfriend Benji Madden - who is Joel's brother and Good Charlotte bandmate - her Chihuahua Tinkerbell has been sniffing around Joel's pet Pitbull Terrier Eazy. In a posting on the Good Charlotte website following a family party at Paris' house, Benji wrote: "There were lots of babies around and everyone brought their dogs and they were all dressed up.
"We just found out that Eazy, Joel's dog, and Tinkerbell are now seeing each other. She seems happy; we wish them the best..." Benji and Paris have been dating for three months and are reportedly planning to marry. Joel is engaged to Paris' close friend Nicole Richie and the couple has a five-month-old daughter Harlow. Animal-lover Paris once claimed to have 600 pets in her various homes including Chihuahuas, a Rottweiler dog, a bobcat, a ferret and a kinkajou, though Tinkerbell is arguably her most famous pet after making regular public appearances with the socialite.

Socialite Paris Hilton has defended herself against criticism of her extensive pet collection, insisting she only owns 17 dogs because they keep breeding. The Simple Life star is currently at the centre of a new Los Angeles Department of Animal Services investigation after recently boasting about her pooches on Ellen DeGeneres' TV talk show. But Hilton claims her brood keeps growing because she doesn't want to separate newborn pups from their parents. She says, "They keep having babies and I feel bad to give them away because I feel like, if I had a baby and someone gave it away it would be mean."

Paris Hilton's dog love has landed her at the center of a new Los Angeles Department of Animal Services investigation, after the heiress boasted about owning 17 pets on a TV show. The socialite told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres all about the extent of her pooch collection on the comedienne's show on Monday - not realizing it's illegal to have more than three dogs at any one non-kennel, non-breeder, residential address in Los Angeles.
Animal Services sources tell Tmz.com that bosses of an animal rescue organization took heed of Hilton's dog boast and complained to the officials, who paid her a visit on Tuesday. The website reports Animal Services representatives turned up at Hilton's home, but Paris and her dogs were not there. They left a message with a maid and now plan to return to conduct a full inspection.
