Jennifer Lopez says “no” to reality show
Jennifer Lopez made sure no one was in any doubt her upcoming show will not be reality TV this week. Speaking to Access Hollywood Jennifer insisted, despite TV Company TLC releasing a statement promising the “docu-series” would deliver a slice of Jennifer’s life that audiences have never seen before, as she takes on her career while trying to juggle her new responsibilities as a first time mom J.Lo said she would do no such thing. “You heard it here first. There is no reality show at all. We would not have cameras in our house,” Jennifer said. “It’s just not our thing. That might be fine for other people, but not for us,” also adding she “wanted to die” when she first heard rumours her babies were set to appear on screen. “I was talking about doing a show with TLC,” she said, “Well, we’ll see, we’ll see.” We’re guessing we probably won’t.
-------------------------------------------Judge Dismisses Lopez Lawsuit
A judge in New York has dismissed a lawsuit against Jennifer Lopez from a writer who accused the star of stealing his idea for a TV series. Jack Bunick filed suit at the U.S. District Court in Manhattan claiming 2006 drama series South Beach - which was executive produced by the star - was too similar to the plot of a pilot episode he wrote in 1999 for a program called South Beach Miami. Bunick named Lopez, UPN and CBS Television in the suit.
But Judge Richard Berman tossed the lawsuit out of court on Wednesday declaring there to be inadequate evidence to take the case to trial. The judge also noted that there was "powerful evidence" that the defendants had created the series independently. Papers filed by Lopez's lawyers claimed that although the star was an executive producer, she was barely involved in the development and was only brought in at a later stage to "lend celebrity to the show." The show was cancelled after just eight episodes following poor reviews and low viewing figures.
---------------------------------------Lopez Removes Home Life From Reality Show
But now the star has insisted the program, commissioned for U.S. cable channel TLC, will only cover launch of her new fragrance - and not her home life. Lopez's manager Simon Fields has revealed that anyone hoping for a glimpse of her life with husband Marc Anthony and their baby twins will be disappointed. He tells People.com, "The recent show Jennifer Lopez plans to produce for TLC is not a reality show. It's a show that will track the creation, production and eventual launch of a new fragrance. Jennifer will appear in a creative, entrepreneurial capacity and will absolutely not feature her children and family life."
------------------------------------------Lopez Lands Reality TV Series
Jennifer Lopez has landed her very own reality TV show. Cameras will follow the singer as she launches a new fragrance while trying to juggle her music and acting careers with motherhood. The Maid In Manhattan star, mother to two-month-old twins Max and Emme, will co-executive produce the show for U.S. cable channel TLC. She says, "I'm looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together." TLC president, Angela Shapiro-Mathes, tells People.com, "Jennifer is unbelievably passionate about life and will be an incredible role model for our audience."
----------------------------------------------Lopez Paid $6 Million for Baby Pics
Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony were paid a staggering $6 million for the first pictures of their newborn twins Max and Emme. People magazine dug deep for the rights to show the world the month-old tots - trumping the $1.5 million a rival paid pop star Christina Aguilera for the first snaps of her baby son Max. Tabloid editors claim stars are competing to win more and more money from magazines - and that if pregnant Angelina Jolie is carrying twins, as is rumored; she can expect a $10 million payday. One magazine boss tells the New York Post, "It's at the point now where some stars might decide to have more kids just to collect the money from their photos."
